Obtaining a certificate of no criminal record in Ukraine: everything you need to know
There are two types of certificate of criminal prosecution, absence/presence of a criminal record or restrictions provided by the criminal procedural legislation of Ukraine – the so-called “abbreviated” and “full” certificate.
- The abbreviated certificate is the most frequently requested among clients, it contains only information about the presence/absence of a criminal record of a person at the time of receiving this certificate.
- In addition to information about the presence/absence of a criminal record, the complete certificate also contains information about whether the person was previously convicted and the criminal record was removed or expunged, as well as whether the person has restrictions provided for by the criminal procedural legislation of Ukraine.
To receive a certificate of no criminal record, you can send us a scanned copy of pages 1 and 2 of your passport, as well as the page with the residence permit (in the case of an ID card, a photo of both sides of the card and an extract from the registration of the place of residence). We will ensure fast obtaining of the document.

Cost of the authentication of the criminal record clearance certificate
Authentication confirms the accuracy of a document copy or the qualifications of the translator who performed the translation. There are several ways to authenticate a criminal record clearance certificate:

Costs 300 UAH per document (up to 10 pages)
Notarial certification of document copies
The certification of the accuracy of document copies in Ukraine is governed by Articles 75-78 of the Ukrainian Notary Law. A notarially certified copy is a photocopy of the original document, affixed with the notary’s official seal, signature, and stamp, confirming its conformity to the original.
During the certification process, the notary verifies that the copy is consistent with the original legal document and affixes it with their seal and signature. Certification of the accuracy of a copy from another certified copy or one issued by a legal entity that issued the original is also possible. In most cases, a notarially certified copy has the same legal force as the original document.
It is important to note that the notary may refuse to certify if the original contains erasures, corrections, or added text. This crucial requirement by the Ministry of Justice aims to prevent fraud and forgery.

Cost: 100 UAH per document
Certification by the translation bureau's stamp
This is the fastest and most economical option. It includes the bureau’s stamp, the translator’s name, diploma number, and contact details. It’s important to note that while bureau stamp certification does not replace notarial certification, it is sufficient for many purposes.
Certification by the bureau’s stamp is a process that adds official status to a translation, giving it legal validity for use in various institutions and organizations. This can include universities, government bodies, immigration services, or international companies.
Choosing between notarial certification and bureau stamp certification depends on the specific requirements of the organization accepting the documents. Therefore, it’s recommended to confirm which type of certification is needed for your case before ordering.

Cost: 300 UAH per document
Notarial certification of the translator's signature without simultaneous certification of the document copy
To grant official status to a translation, it must be notarially certified. During certification, the notary checks the translator’s diploma and documents and certifies their signature on the document.
The translation is attached to either the original or a copy of the document, and a notarial note is made on the back of the last sheet of the translation. The document is then sealed and signed by the translator, the notary, and affixed with the national emblem seal.
This type of certification may be required for the translation to be used for official purposes within Ukraine, such as in court, for residency permits, taxpayer identification number applications, or other documents for foreigners. It may also be necessary for using the documents abroad, although the requirements vary by country and institution, so it is essential to check the necessary certification requirements in advance.

Cost: 300 UAH per document (up to 10 pages)
Notarial certification of the translator's signature with simultaneous certification of the document copy
In this case, along with the translator’s signature, the notary also certifies the accuracy of the document copy. Typically, the original document must be presented to the notary.
The procedure involves two key checks: the authenticity of the professional’s signature who performed the translation, and the accuracy of the document copy compared to its original.
This type of certification might be needed when the translation is attached to a copy of the document, and the receiving institution specifically requires notarial certification of the document copy.

Cost: 400 UAH per document
Bilingual notarial certification of the translator's signature (and if necessary, the document copy)
In this scenario, the notary certifies the translator’s signature and, if needed, the document copy. The certification text is provided in Ukrainian with a translation into the language of the translation. This type of certification is recommended for use when the translation is needed abroad.
The bilingual certification text is stamped and signed by the translator and the notary, making the certified translation understandable to foreign institutions where the translation will be used, as the notarial certificate is also provided in the language of the country where the translation will be used.
The wording of the notarial certification that verifies the translation and document copy is set by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. Thus, the certification must include text in Ukrainian, and it can also be duplicated in the translation language at the client’s request.
