Website translation and localization: what you need to know

Translating (localizing) your website is not just about swapping words into another language. It is about building a bridge between your brand and your audience, earning trust and increasing conversions.

Our experts consider every detail of the site, from the copy to the graphic design, to deliver a fully adapted experience for each language and culture.

We do not simply translate texts — we create a coherent image of your brand in a new language environment. Our professional translators, armed with extensive experience and a creative approach, will do everything possible to make your website memorable for users and build a positive impression of your brand.

The cost of website translation and localization

In Ukraine, translation costs are calculated by the number of characters rather than physical pages. One “translation” page is 1,800 characters with spaces, and the rate depends on the language. Once we receive your order, our specialists convert the files into a format that allows us to measure the exact volume of text. The number of “translation” pages is then multiplied by the applicable rate. We have special rates for standard documents, and regular clients can count on discounts.

How we localize websites

  1. Glossary and brand voice. We agree the product terminology and tone of address before translation starts — and fix them in a glossary that serves every future update.
  2. Working in developers’ formats. We accept CMS exports and localization files (JSON, PO, XLIFF) and return the translation in the same format — ready to import, no manual copy-paste.
  3. SEO translation. Titles, descriptions, and headings are matched to real search queries on the target market, not translated literally: the site has to be findable, not just readable.
  4. Translation memory. New pages and updates are billed only for new text — repetitions are filled from the TM automatically.
  5. Proofreading on the live site. After import we review the real pages: button lengths, line breaks, truncated strings.

Frequently asked questions

How do you ensure the right quality of website translation?

The translator must be familiar with the culture of the readers and know the nuances and stylistic features of the target language. The translator must also understand how the product or service is used in the region the translation is intended for.

Does a website always need localization?

Localization is always needed, because it provides not just a translation of the website but also the adaptation of the text to cultural and regional specifics.

When is a website translation into Ukrainian needed?

Translating a website into Ukrainian becomes necessary in several scenarios. Foreign companies planning to enter the Ukrainian market translate their web resources to reach a new audience. Ukrainian brands that previously used Russian on their websites also switch their interfaces to the state language. This is not only a requirement of Ukrainian law, but also a sign of respect for Ukrainian users.

Where can I order a website translation?

When a website needs to be translated, clients sometimes turn to individual translators on freelance marketplaces. However, it is better to order this service from the MovaPro translation agency, whose team brings together specialists in different fields: medical, economic, technical and more.

How do I order the translation of website content?

Our agency can translate your website content into any language within the shortest possible time. Simply send us a link to the website and specify the deadline and the language — our translators will handle the rest.

Why involve native speakers?

Specialists who translate into their native language do it better, because they feel at home both in the language and in the subject matter. As a result, the client receives a first-class website translation.

Why is it important to localize a website for an international audience?

Website localization allows you to tailor the site to the specific culture, language and needs of the target audience, which makes communication more effective and improves the user experience.

How do I choose the languages for website localization?

The choice of languages for website localization should be based on an analysis of the target audience, the distribution of users by language and the company's strategic market goals.

How are cultural differences taken into account during website localization?

Cultural differences are addressed by adapting the content, design and functionality of the website to local traditions, customs and cultural norms.
