A notarized translation of a standard document costs from UAH 570: from UAH 170 for the translation, depending on the language, plus UAH 400 for notarization of the translator’s signature. Notarized translation in Ukraine: what you need to know
A notarized translation is a translation accompanied by notarial certification of the authenticity of the translator’s signature. The original document or its copy is bound together with the translation; on its last page, the translator signs in the presence of a notary, and the notary certifies the authenticity of that signature.
It is better to order a notarized translation from one company rather than going to a translation agency first and then to a notary separately: the translator must be registered in the notary’s register. If you bring a notary a translation done by yourself or by a third-party translator, it will not be possible to have it certified.

Translation cost
Usually, the cost of translating one standard document (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.) equals the cost of translating one standard page. If the text exceeds 1,800 characters with spaces (for example, an internal passport with all its stamps, a bank statement or a medical report), the cost is calculated based on the actual character count.

Cost of notarization

Certification of the translator’s signature — UAH 400 per document
To give a translation official status, it must be notarized. The notary verifies the translator’s diploma and certifies their signature on the document. The translation is attached to the original or a copy of the document, and a notarial inscription is made on the back of the last page. The document is sealed with the signatures of the translator and the notary and with the official state seal.
This type of certification is required for official use of the translation in Ukraine — in court, for residence permits, tax numbers and other paperwork for foreigners, and for contracts, powers of attorney and applications. For use abroad, the requirements differ depending on the country and institution — we recommend checking with the receiving party in advance.
Translator’s signature + certified true copy — UAH 400 per document (up to 10 pages)
Along with the translator’s signature, the notary certifies that the copy of the document is a true copy — for this, the original must be presented. The procedure covers two checks: the authenticity of the translator’s signature and the accuracy of the copy compared to the original.
This option is needed when the translation is bound to a copy of the document and the receiving institution requires notarized certification of the copy. For example, a power of attorney in Polish for a real-estate sale is translated into Ukrainian and bound to a notarized copy. The original stays with you; the registrar keeps the copy with the translation for the archive.
Bilingual certification — price on request
The notary certifies the translator’s signature (and, if needed, the copy of the document), and the certification text is written in Ukrainian and duplicated in the target language. We recommend this option for documents that will be submitted abroad: the notarial certificate will be understandable to foreign institutions.
The wording of the notarial inscription is established by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine: the Ukrainian text is mandatory, while the duplication in the target language is added at the client’s request.

What is a notarized translation?
It is a translation of a document performed by a qualified certified translator, the authenticity of whose signature is certified by a notary. A notarized translation has legal force and is used for official purposes: court proceedings, notarial acts, immigration matters and more. Under Ukrainian law, only a translation performed by a professional translator holding a relevant degree can be notarized.
How long does a notarized translation take?
The turnaround depends on the volume and complexity of the documents. Usually — from 2 hours to several days. We complete a typical standard document on the day of request.
Can I translate a document myself and have it certified by a notary?
No. The notary certifies only the signature of a translator registered in their register who holds a diploma with the relevant qualification. A translation done by yourself or by a third-party translator cannot be certified.
When is a notarized translation of documents required?
It is required by banks, embassies, consulates, visa centers and government institutions: the civil registry office, passport office, tax office, migration service and others. It is also needed when concluding agreements and contracts, and to confirm the validity of foreign documents in Ukraine.
Do I need to provide the original document?
To certify a true copy — yes, the notary must see the original in person. If only the translator's signature is being certified, or the translation is certified with the agency's stamp, it is enough to send a scan or photo of the document by email or messenger.
