XTM Cloud: an enterprise TMS for continuous localization
Updated:
XTM Cloud is an enterprise cloud translation management system (TMS) from XTM International, chosen by large companies with constant content streams: frequently updated websites, knowledge bases, recurring reporting. At MovaPro we use XTM in two scenarios: for our own large projects and — more often — when a client already runs localization in XTM and needs a professional translation team inside their process.
What XTM Cloud does
- Projects of any scale in one environment. Files, translation memory, terminology, approval routes, and quality control — all in the cloud, with simultaneous access for every participant.
- Continuous localization. XTM automatically picks up new and changed strings (from a website or a documentation repository), routes them to translation, and returns them in place. Language versions never lag behind the original.
- Shared translation memory and glossary. As in Trados or memoQ: identical sentences get identical translations, approved terms are highlighted, repetitions are not billed as new text.
- Transparency for the client. Your manager sees each file’s status in real time — what is in translation, what is being edited, what is done.
Why it matters to you
Recurring volumes without manual routine. If new pages, manuals, or legal documents appear every month, XTM turns translation from a series of one-off orders into a well-run pipeline — with compounding savings on repetitions.
Your process, our team. Corporate clients don’t have to change their workflow: our linguists with 15–20+ years of experience join your XTM projects as vendors, following your glossaries and rules. It is a familiar setup for the legal and technical departments of international companies.
Compatibility across the toolchain. Translation memories transfer between systems, so what accumulates in XTM also works in our other CAT environments — and vice versa. You are never locked into one platform.
How we work in XTM
- Access that fits your process — we set up a project in our XTM or plug into your instance.
- Project foundation — the translation memory and glossary are attached from the start; for new clients we build them from the first files.
- One shared environment — translators and the editor work in parallel in the same web interface, with no files flying around by email.
- Double quality control — XTM’s built-in checks, then a final pass in Xbench.
- A cycle that never stops — new strings queue themselves up, the memory grows, and your per-word cost gradually drops.

Frequently asked questions
Our company already works in XTM. Can you plug into our process?
Yes — that is the typical scenario: if your localization team runs projects in XTM Cloud, our translators and editors work directly inside your projects, with your translation memory, glossary, and QA rules. Nothing needs to be migrated.
What is continuous localization?
A process where translation runs in parallel with product updates: new strings appear on your site or in your documentation, land in the translation project automatically, and come back translated. Instead of "a big package twice a year" you get language versions that are always current.
Does XTM save money the same way other CAT tools do?
Yes. Translation memory and repetition analysis work the same way: previously translated and repeated sentences are not billed at the full rate. On regular monthly volumes, the accumulated memory delivers growing savings.
