Adobe Illustrator: translating vector graphics

Adobe Illustrator is the standard for vector graphics: technical diagrams, charts, labels, packaging, infographics, and logos live in AI format. You cannot translate such a file as a text document — the labels are embedded in the artwork. What we do in Illustrator

• Collect the text from the artwork. Diagram labels, axis captions, legends, label copy — everything is extracted into a translation format tied to its place in the design.
• Translate through the professional cycle. The text passes a CAT system with translation memory and a glossary, an editor, and Xbench checks — identical callouts across dozens of diagrams read identically.
• Return the text into the vector. The DTP specialist fits the translation back in: adjusts label size and position, watches hyphenation and the legibility of small captions.
• Deliver a print-ready file. AI/EPS/PDF with no quality loss — vector stays vector.

Why it matters to you

Diagrams in technical documentation. A manual in technical translation often carries dozens of diagrams — left untranslated, the document looks unfinished and fails client review. We translate the document together with its graphics, as one package.

Labels and packaging. To enter a new market, packaging has to speak the local language — keeping the design, certification marks, and mandatory statements intact. For medical products this is a regulatory-compliance matter, and we lay such packaging out to print-ready condition.

Marketing graphics. Infographics, banners, and presentation materials from marketing projects — the translation reads naturally and looks as if the design was drawn in that language from the start.

How we work

1. File assessment — send AI/EPS/PDF; we count text volume, layout complexity, and repetitions (standard labels are not billed every time).
2. Translation — specialist linguists with 15–20+ years of experience, translation memory, glossary.
3. Layout — the text returns into the artwork; small captions are checked for legibility.
4. Final review — the editor inspects the finished file: in graphics, errors are only visible to the eye.
