Smartcat is a cloud translation platform built around collaboration: translators, the editor, and the project manager work in one online environment at the same time — no software installs, no file ping-pong. What Smartcat does

• One project — the whole team. Text is distributed among translators automatically; everyone sees the shared translation memory and glossary. The editor joins as soon as the first pages are ready.
• Translation memory and terminology. The professional standard: identical sentences come from the database, approved terms are highlighted, repetitions are not billed at the full rate.
• Browser-based work. No licenses or installs on the contractor side — a 200-page project with a team of five specialist translators launches in a few hours.
• Built-in QA. Numbers, tags, omissions, glossary compliance — the system watches the details, a human editor does the final read, and Xbench runs the control pass.
